That's right, she arrived around lunch time, went straight to the pub with some hangers on, turned up minutes before here appearance smelling of eau de vino and then promptly disappeared quickly to the bar.hatpeg wrote:Is the mystery lady Marie Cameron the biographer of Patricks book

As one of the co-organisers I had to be aware of a lot of things going on in the background. Plus, anyone who was in the green room who witnessed her arrival with her half-cut entourage literally seconds before her interview can concur that it was a rather embarrassing episode.anti-clockwise wrote:Well that's pretty sad. How did you notice with so many people there? Must have been obvious in some way?
The title of her book is striking. What does it mean?

I'm sure a more recent reader of it will step in to answer, but my vague recollection is that the owners of a restaurant(?) that Macnee used to frequent described their half-deaf dog as "blind in one ear". I'm not sure why Macnee chose it as a title except that it evokes English eccentricity rather well.

It's been awhile since I read it as well, but it was something like that. I remember Patrick writing he wondered if he was "blind in one ear" himself. He liked it as a turn of phrase to sum up his life.Frankymole wrote:I'm sure a more recent reader of it will step in to answer, but my vague recollection is that the owners of a restaurant(?) that Macnee used to frequent described their half-deaf dog as "blind in one ear".
