Re: Avengers videotape era titles in HD

Interesting to see the Series 3 titles remade by Clayton Hickman. He's a clever fellow!

Re: valued Avenger item

Perhaps oddly, my favourite Avengers possessions aren't really Avengers items as such, or at least not to do with the TV series: the reel-to-reel off-air audio tapes of the South African radio series, sent to me and Alys by the lovely and much-missed John Wright, and the Diana Rigg 8mm films (Golden...

Re: Kimberley Thompson RIP

I too read Des' Facebook message last night and was rendered pretty much speechless. Kim was a lovely person and driving force behind this place, setting up and running this forum. After she stepped back I kept in touch via Facebook, so knew that she was facing a tough battle with her health. Howeve...

Re: The Avengers Declassified - TheAvengers.TV Website

In the light of my recent experiences with regard to using images from copyright sources at my websites, I have made the decision to take down several of my websites. Unfortunately, one of these is The Avengers Declassified, which has been online for more than a decade. Fortunately a good deal of it...

Re: Who owns The Avengers?

I do list the various copyright holders to The Avengers chronologically in my book Bowler Hats and Kinky Boots, as and when the changes took place, but you will need to read through it to come across them. Good thing I found this list amongst my files. The Avengers copyright holder 1961 – 1967 ABC ...

Re: Imprint Films The Avengers: Emma Peel Collection Blu-Ray

I sold my Australian Danger Man set from Madman because it had the same juddery video. Even though it has nice extras, I couldn't bear to watch it. Which one's that? Fifty minute episodes or the original half-hours? I have the Madman set for the latter but Network for the former. Didn't notice any ...

Re: Imprint Films The Avengers: Emma Peel Collection Blu-Ray

Received the Emma Peel Imprint set today and can't deny I find it very disappointing that Imprint have compromised the image and sound quality of the bonus features in making the release US-friendly. The extras, which were 576/50i on the UK sets, have been converted to 480/60i on this new Australian...

Re: Videotaped Episodes

Although there is some interesting retrospective from Dave Rogers about the finding of the Blackman negatives and other material (not VTs though) in the first volume of the recent Stay Tuned collections, it does really need a detailed book like the Richard McGinlay/Alan Hayes work on Season 1. Sadl...
