I'm not sure why some folks don't like this one. The plot is a little muddled, but Emma steals the show as Queen of Sin. We didn't get this one in the US, so I didn't know about it until I bought all of the box sets for all Avengers series.

Although I liked Patrick Newell, I never cared for the "Mother" character. I just saw him as a time-filler that detracted from the main story, and his hide-outs were just too contrived.

Good point, Alan. Further explanation: A blank round can be silenced. Any bullet moving faster than the speed of sound creates a sonic boom. For a live round, it's not the shot that's heard, but the bullet breaking the sound barrier.

Rifle silencers only work in the movies* - but then, this IS Avengerland.

*The one exception is with subsonic ammunition. Great find, though
