The worst ones I've seen are the Tara King releases. Some of them look great, some are really bad. You can see major differences in the opening credits even. (The white letters look pink in quite a few). Also, "You'll Catch Your Death" looks like someone spilled coffee on the original fil...

The French box sets can be watched in English with the original titles and no subtitles; in English with French subtitles; or in French with French titles. You are free to use them as you wish. They're great value, too. Thanks for the info Rodney - in fact, spurred on by this and other info on the ...

Thanks again to all for their feedback on this query. I'm leaning towards the French boxsets at the moment - ideally I'd love to see a UK release with the intact English title sequences etc, but as I'd like to purchase the b/w Peels sometime in the next 12 months, I don't think there's much chance o...

I've been working my way through the colour Peel's and this was one of several episodes I hadn't seen before - hadn't heard too much about it either, so I had few definite expectations. From the opening teaser sequence however I found myself quite hooked - anything with the ever-watchable Peter Bark...

I have all the Dutch A-Film DVD's except season four because I read on this forum some episodes have been edited. The quality of the DVD's is superb, never any playback issues, but no extra's, no episode information and some episodes from the Tara King era really could do with a remastering. Dutch ...

Closer to you, there's also a Universal edition of the Emma Peel episodes from Australia.... And a lovely set it is too - this has been my starting point recently and I'm loving every minute of it. Obviously I'm not in a position to make comparisons but to me the quality on this 9 disc set is consi...

DVD boxset options - French, Dutch, US or UK?

Apologies in advance for the very general and 'naive' question I'm posing here - I confess that I have trawled through the various threads on the pro's and con's of the various DVD releases (and very interesting reading they proved to be too!) but I'm still a tad unsure as to which of the current DV...

A big thumbs-up from me too - a guest cast that reads like a veritable 'Who's-who' of 70's British TV comedy, wonderfully paced and (as ever) extremely witty. What other show could get away with having key elements of the sets adorned with blatant signage (the book-laden shelves that Trevor Banniste...

Picked this up today - now retitled 'The Avengers - 1967 Collection' ; could this simply be a reissue of the previous "1967" set released here in Oz a few years back? I'm presuming these are the same transfers as the UK (Contender) eps - anyone in a position to make a comparison?
