It might be worth people considering which two episodes they would like to see on the big screen: given that the potential 'panelists' would be my father, Don Leaver and Gerry O'Hara, my suggestion would be The Hour that Never Was and The House that Jack Built, voted two of the favourites on this f...

Hi Rodney :) It doesn't sound sad to me. Avengerland is addictive. I'd love to visit the bridge at Tyke's Water Lake but I understand that it is privately owned. This is true ... but in previous years we've been able to make arrangements to visit the location with the attendees at the Treasure Hunt....

Hi Rodney :) My father and I might liase with the BFI and see if we can arrange a screening next year of a couple of Avengers episodes with the writers and directors on hand for a question and answer session followed by a late lunch in Chinatown. Do you know Dick Fiddy? He's a smashing fella and cer...

Hi guys :) Finally got chance to dig out some of my notes for the 1962-1964 episodes and have a look at the inserts and recording schedules. Although I've seen scripts to all 52 episodes, not all of them were camera scripts, so as such this list won't be 100% comprehensive. But here's some bits and ...

I love the essays in these books; some of my favourite writing about "Doctor Who". Terrific stuff.

Definitely interest in an event of some sort, be there guests or screenings or whatever. It'd just be cool to see some other events around for this terrific series.

Hello Rodney :) The American who provided a talk on Peel produced a book later, although I seem to remember it was very dry and academic, he had a name like Jeremy Miller. Ahhh! Probably Toby Miller's book from the BFI. I did get that one and read it; as you say, very dry indeed. Not one of my favou...

Probably my favourite "Avengers" strip of the 1960s. Lovely artwork and nicely wacky storylines; capture the feel of the colour 1967 episodes nicely.

It certainly isn't a case of lack of support. My father has attended other conventions for lesser known shows such as for his Public Eye series, although he has commented that many of the audience were bordering on 'anorak'. Gosh! A "Public Eye" convention! Must have missed that. I know t...
