Re: The Music of the Avengers

You’re absolutely right, of course. The work they (and you) did over the years on these shows was exceptional. (Hence why it’s just sad to me that The Avengers didn’t make it under the wire for the Network treatment, as you know it would have been just as great! It's a shame we didn't get that far....

Re: The Music of the Avengers

Thanks for posting so many details about the soundtracks that would have been, but seeing these track lists just makes me sadder. Sorry about that... it wasn't the intention. I'd copied and pasted the basic listing to demonstrate a) that, yes, so much of this material does still exist and b) how Ti...

Re: The Music of the Avengers

That’s extraordinary, thanks Andrew. Happy to help when I can... which, sadly, isn't always quite as often as I'd like to... I am so so sad to hear that it got so close to becoming a reality after all these years and that it couldn’t quite make it the distance at the very end. It has been a terribl...

Re: The Music of the Avengers

I just saw on Twitter a post (by “Darren Lit Roundels”) that alluded to a comprehensive Season 4 Laurie Johnson soundtrack box set being in the works at Network before the company recently went under (and thus has been aborted)? Any truth to this, does anyone know? I’ll be so sad if it’s true! Sadl...

Re: Annual Dead Man's Treasure Hunt

Here’s something we managed to determine at this year’s event - it may be known to some but we couldn’t find any definitive reference as to which direction on the bridge Linda Thorson was running during the opening titles of Series 6. An in-depth investigation found that she was running from the sc...

Rather nice chat about "The Midas Touch" here on Philip Hawkins' "Lives in the Pictures" series; series experts Jaz Wiseman and Rodney Marshall add to the discussion:

Re: Dead Man's Treasure

I've just watched this and I think it's one of my favourites. It's got everything, good amount of screen time for both leads, nice interaction between them, the sudden tense thrilling deadly serious ending, a solid plot and it's well grounded. No crazy superpower or wants to run the world type here...

Re: Who owns The Avengers?

By the way, IMDB is wrong, some busybody took a pet theory about there "really" being 7 series rather than 6 and updated it. The problem is, series 5 and 6 were so poorly networked, and had several production breaks, that different sets of episodes were announced as "a new season&quo...
