Clemens isn't always the most reliable source, either. His comments don't always tally up with those of the other players. It's entirely possible that both stories could be right--they had a batch of scripts, some of which were so medically involved that it made more sense to have someone step into...

Then again, it was 1968, so the doctor might've thought any drunk would possibly also have been on speed. As indeed the actors were, shortly after, to lose weight! Would amphetamines and champagne cancel each other out??
It might cancel out the person imbibing!

Is Jennifer Croxton now a model?

I was checking out the pictures at the Guardian Unlimited. They have a weekly gallery on "All Ages Fashion," in which they feature models of, yes, all ages. In this week's, one of the models is credited as Jennifer Croxton. Here's a link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/gallery/2011...

Angela Browne in "How to Succeed. . ."

Has anyone noticed that Angela Browne wears the same outfit she wore in "Intercrime"? She wears a lamé dress and a fur coat in both eps. I'm guessing she supplied her own wardrobe for the show.

I saw a "Close-Up" article in TV Guide about a new series replacing "Ben Casey" for the summer of 1965. It was "The Avengers." There was a picture of DR and PM. I talked my family into watching. We were all mesmerized. It was "The Cybernauts." We were on pins ...

No-minister-dont-mess-with-Joanna-Lumley

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/7415768/No-minister-dont-mess-with-Joanna-Lumley.html Interesting article. The minister seems to be complaining that Ms. Lumley is not finishing the government's job that her actions forced them to start. Sounds like he could be a Republican in the US! Don

Hermès Fall Fashion Channeling The Avengers

You should check out Jean-Paul Gaultier's fall line for Hermès. He's definitely channeling The Avengers. There are echoes of both Cathy Gale and Emma Peel, but tons of references to John Steed. I saw it at New York Magazine's website: nymag.com, and it's also at The New York Times: www.nytimes.com. ...

Cigarette ads were banned from American TV in 1971. I don't know how this affected smoking in series, whether it was already discouraged by then or took place later. Before the ban, many shows had tobacco sponsors and the smoke was so thick you could hardly see the actors. I'm guessing that onscreen...
