I just watched that episode a few days ago. They were shooting dice.

I'm not going to burn you at the stake, OneKnight, but I do find it odd that you only have one episode to judge Steed by negatively in the Emma series, when there are a LOT of episodes, a huge amount, whereby he is anxious to save her when she is captured, at risk, etc, and indeed does do so. We st...

I just recalled another great line from the tag for 'Something Nasty In The Nursery'. Emma is looking into her crystal ball, relaying what she see's. Suddenly she stops and Steed, clearly irritated, says,' And then!" Emma- "The glass has gone cloudy." Steed- "Can't you just give ...

My u-turn was for 'The Fear Merchants'. I had watched it when it appeared in the States in 1967. Through an 8yr olds eyes - the scene where Steed is in great peril, trapped in the pit, getting dirt dumped on him, then fighting for his life caused me great anxiety for the fate of my hero! ( I had suc...

Re: Man-Eater Of Surrey Green (Aaarrgh! Not that again)

I tend to suspect, having looked at the screenshots, that we were supposed to think that Steed had sacrificed Emma right up until we see her lying there with her coat off, at which point I think they meant for us to realise he'd used the mannequin, but if that's true it's so badly staged it's no su...

Re: what would you change?

If you had the chance, would you change something in different "Avengers"-episodes? Would you create another end or are there some lines Steed and the others could say - you would like to put into Steeds mouth? Would you change some scenes or are you content with "the Avengers" ...

Re: Playing the Optimum DVD's in the US

Yes, that's what I did for both my players. There was just a certain series of buttons that needed to be pushed, and then I could play region 2 DVDs. The whole region situation is a bit ridiculous--how it can protect DVD markets when you can only buy a lot of shows in one region is beyond me. Natura...

Steed and Kim Lawrence break into a shop. "We could go to Holloway!" Kim "Do you think it could be arranged?" Steed - The Charmers (Holloway being, course, the largest women-only prison in Europe) Wow! I have completely missed that one in all the times I've watched that episode!...

You could always do what I've done for DVDs - have a couple of DVD drives in your computer, Sam. Set one to Region 1 and the other to Region 2. That sounds like a great idea! I'm not to computer savvy. Can you just add on or would that be designed into a specific computer system? Any ballpark on co...

Re: Playing the Optimum DVD's in the US

I'm really wanting to order some of these new sets since it's way better than what's available here so far. I've heard before, but shouldn't I be able to play Region 2's on one of my computers? I've heard that the region coding can be changed on those and the PAL/NTSC issue doesn't affect them. Als...
