I thought that was a Region B release. My mistake, as I did state record for a stateside release.

I have read some complaints of the white levels or contrast being too high. I don't have the optimum discs to compare, but it does seem like the gamma is set too high. I lowered the gamma to 2.4 from 2.2 on my set and this doesn't crush blacks in the slightest or make the picture too dark and dims d...

I have made the decision to get a region free mod kit for $60 for my Oppo 103. You can hook them up externally now so it won't void the warranty. Region B Avengers will be mine. I want a set that is properly done. Think it is any coincidence that the specs were never fully detailed before the US rel...

I thought the first 2 episodes looked good. Sometimes very good to excellent. Color and sound are improved over the DVDs IMO as well. Escape in time is up next! The sad thing is if they would have put 5 episodes per disc which is the standard for British tv in the States like with The Prisoner or S...

Here you go: new pitch comparison for The Avengers Blu-ray posted on Spy Vibe. see what you think. the Blu-ray *might* be right between the A&E and Optimum, or on-pitch w Optimum? http://spyvibe.blogspot.com/…/11/avengers-review-update.html I have too say the difference is very subtle to the po...

The 1st two discs are confirmed at 39.6 GB! So they've not even utilised the full 50GB capacity of the discs! Nope, the 3rd disc is 44.5gb with 9 episodes. So for 25 episodes they used 125 GB's of space with 150 gigs available. They easily could have released the set with 2 BD-50's and the last on ...

Looked at this set today folks. Now the pal pitch speed up I am not noticing. The blackened camera lens on the edges is miniscule and a part of the original filming process. I don't overscan content on my tv so this is a non-issue with me. My tv is a Panasonic 65VT60 the critics pick for the best se...

Marissa_Cohnen@bhimpact.com is listed as the point of contact for the US release. I added when I e-mailed her. " "Looking at the press release of 1293 minutes / 3 = overs 7 hours of content per BD-50. Way too much content for any amount of quality. The most I have ever seen on a BD-50 is 4...
