Re: 2.02 - Dead on Course

Franky once very helpfully pointed out percussive distortion to me: The picture interference caused by percussion (the gunfire) affecting the tube cameras is called "microphony". https://www.effectrode.com/knowledge-base/microphonics/ Oh god, suddenly having flashbacks to parts of the 197...

Re: 1.20 - Tunnel of Fear

So that’s 22 2/3 to go!

The fact that ‘Girl On A Trapeze’ was one of the ones that wasn’t broadcast in London hadn’t even occurred to me in terms of guessing what might have been telerecorded.

Re: 1.19 - Toy Trap

As everyone has said, this is incredibly heavy stuff. One can’t even begin to imagine the film-era series taking on a topic like this. Even in S2&3 this would have felt a bit extreme. But here in S1, while it is still extremely sordid, it doesn’t stick out as somehow not being in the spirit of t...

Re: 2.02 - Dead on Course

There are some noticeable things wrong with this episode, and oddly I think we would all ‘like’ it better if it was one of the missing S1 stories. Re:

I'll leave off a score until I'm more familiar with the episode. I've just finished watching the new dvd release. [FULL POST SNIPPED FOR LENGTH] Yes, a strong, fun episode that doesn't disappoint. I waited a few years to watch this one, and finally got to see it a month or so ago as a part of my Av...

Re: The Avengers by Douglas Enefer

I’m slowly making my way through the series again, trying to read the spin off material at the ‘appropriate’ time based on when it was released. For all sorts of reasons, I’m very much an ebook sort of person. I’m only just now at January 1963 in my watching, but I had some spare time last week, so ...
