The point about Epic is that it pokes fun at lots of stock film figures, which The Avengers does very often.
I also liked that it gives a feeling of nostalgio for past glorious film epocs.
It doesn't really need a plot. Why should it have a plot?

My point exactly! It's just a bit of fun. They're not even pretending to take it seriously.
But with Brimstone, they're really just trying too hard.

Painfully too hard. Brian Clemens missed the boat on that one, big time.

Funny that James Hill directed both of them and Peter Wyngarde appeared in both.

Wyngarde was quite a character...He was pretty good in Brimstone,
and EPIC...what a cad !

He's better than 'pretty good' in Brimstone, whether one likes the episode or not. He has genuine screen presence. Epic has some wonderful scenes but as someone has said it is just vignettes, no coherent story and arguably has more offensive content than Brimstone.
