Season 4-the results

Post by cyberrich »

Thanx to the 14 who sent their lists in. I awarded 10 points to your favourite , down to 1 point to your 10th fave. All but one episode managed to acquire some points. A couple of surprises here. I'll post results to seasons 3 and 5 soon, so please send your lists in if you haven't already.

Episode (Points)
1. Death at bargain prices (87)
2.The hour that never was (77)
3.Town of no return (75)
4.Too many Xmas trees (61)
5.Castle De'ath (50)
6.The Cybernauts (49)
7.Dial a deadly number (39)
=8.House that Jack built (33)
The girl from Auntie (33)
10.Murder market (30)
=11.A touch of brimstone (26)
Honey for the Prince (26)
13.Quick quick slow death (22)
=14.A sense of history (20)
The 13th hole (20)
What the butler saw (20)
17.The Masterminds (19)
18.The Gravediggers (17)
19.Maneater of Surrey Green (13)
20.Silent dust (12)
21.A surfeit of H20 (11)
22.Danger makers ( 9)
23.Small game for big hunters (7)
24.How to succeed at murder (6)
25.Two's a crowd (5)
26. Room without a view (0)

Death at bargain prices wins hands down. Nearly all my faves are in the top 10, though surprised to see the best one in only 6th place! Equally surprised to see Girl fom Auntie in the top 10, as I consider this to be the weakest. Poor old Room without a view didn't deserve last place and no points at all!!! By no means the definitive list, but it gives an idea of which episodes fans prefer the most.

Well done with this cyberrich - hope I voted for mine - I can't remember now. But, my faves are at the top too. Poor 'Room With A View' indeed but that and 'Two's A Crowd' are at the bottom on my list too.

Can't disagree with the order of the top 5. A fair result, I feel. I would've put "Silent Dust" somewhat higher, and "What the Butler Saw" is severely underrated.

The bottom of the list is the same for me, too!

Thanks for all the working-it-out!

I'm not surprised at the top and bottom episodes, but I am amazed that at least one of either Honey for the Prince and A Touch of Brimstone aren't in the top 10!

I'm equally surprised that A Surfeit of H20 ranks so low, but its still such a great season that all the episodes are fun.

However, it's great list and thanks for taking the trouble.

I didn't have "Room" on my list? I thought I did. I like it okay.

Hello Rich & All--- I'm just about to begin rewatching seasons four, five, and six, in anticipation of next year's survey. Must say I'm surprised by the poor showing of "Silent Dust", as I remember it very fondly. Also, "Room Without a View". Perhaps the unique nature of "Room" makes it more difficult to rewatch, producing a lower score. I must admit, it's been so long since I've seen it, it will almost be new. Are there common negative elements to these two episodes which might explain their low standing? Best regards, Madelow.
