I've just finished the R4 boxset of this season, so while the eps are still reasonably fresh in my mind:

1. Escape in Time
2. Death's Door
3. Who's Who?
4. The Hidden Tiger
5. Epic
6. From Venus with Love
7. Something Nasty in the Nursery
8. The Correct Way to Kill
9. The Joker
10. The Winged Avenger

I know many people deride sections of this season for over-the-top ''sillyness'', but I have to admit that for me it was a joy to watch from start to finish. Sorry to say "fan favourite" Murdersville doesn't make my top 10 - lovely location work aside, it never quite caught me in the way that the above eps did - perhaps a second watching may change matters sometime?....

Hard one, this...

1. The Correct Way to Kill - my review says it all.
2. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Station - John Laurie and some splendid ideas and atmosphere.
3. Dead Man's Treasure - sheer summery fun, cars, chases, fights, villains, Avengerland in self-celebration!
4. The Hidden Tiger - another review.
5. From Venus With Love - Barbara Shelley and Derek Newark shine. Great mystery too. Phillip Locke, always superbly menacing. The hat eyesight test.
6. The Winged Avenger - Colin Jeavons is great, some nifty touches.
7. The Joker - a remake, but nearly as sinister as the original. Emma in her undies

8. The Positive Negative Man - shockingly good.
9. Escape in Time - Peter Bowles's finest Avenger appearance. Amusing 'trail' and the 'domestic' conversation.
10. Mission... Highly Improbable - a tough one this. "Epic" is great too, but this just pips it. The brilliant guest cast swings it.

And the wooden spoon for worst episode:
24. Murdersville. (Just beating "The Fear Merchants".)

I have finally settled on a order but it could change again... I can enjoy something in almost of this season, but for differing reasons. However, the Hidden Tiger is always top of the list!
