Charles Tingwell 1923 - 2009

Passed away at the grand age of 86 this morning.

Guest artist in both 'The Nutshell' and 'Return of the Cybernauts' and such a familiar face from my childhood viewings of 'Catweazle'. Many, many credits to his name (small and big screen) and always a joy to watch. Rest in peace Bud

Aww, shame. For me he will always be the Detective Inspector from the Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple films.

That's exactly what I was going to say.

He was a very likeable actor and reminded me hugely of my uncle.

I think he'd been living in Australia for the last few decades.

Aww, shame. I heard it here first; must put on some Catweazle this weekend!

I gather he returned "down under" and did lots of episodes of a famous soap! But he's in plenty of Brit telly too, which I'll enjoy revisiting.

I had a vague recollection of the name but I instantly recognised the face. His current film, 'Antigravity', is listed as 'in production', I hope he'd managed to finish filming his role.

He was a Spitfire pilot in WWII. Wonderful.
