Sometimes lines from The Avengers rattle round my brain likes songs lyrics. What are your favourites - popular or obscure?
Here are a few of mine from The Town Of No Return
"The milk ... is in the kitchen"
"I could take it black ...?"
"That was very very dirty"
Welcome to the jolly old Gremlin. Well what'll it be? A jar or two of the jolly old splosh, wot?
... and the quote of the series, in my opinion.
"I asked the chief predator where to find you and he said, 'Our Mrs. Peel is in ladies' underwear'. I rattled up the stairs three at a time".
"Merry quips department on the fifth floor, sir!" - Death At Bargain Prices

Oh, heavens, we could be here all day. I soak up lines from everything from '90s Disney cartoons to Hitchhiker's Guide to Frasier to whatever Graham Norton said last night, and The Avengers is no exception. The trouble with a lot of Avengers lines is that they're often paired with whatever's going on onscreen, and therefore don't always stand well on their own. But some that come to mind (other than the ladies' underwear one you've already cited, which I think is pretty much one of everyone's favourites
):
"I tried working once. It didn't work out. Too much like work." --Steed in The Murder Market
"Lead weights for your diving boots?"
"Rock cakes from my Auntie Penelope." --Dead Man's Treasure.
"I don't know, Purdey. Ask me another." --After 26 episodes, Gambit's sanity is just barely hanging in there by Forward Base. I use this one a lot personally, too.
"Oh, we was just discussing the merits of one another, wasn't we?" --Purdey's wonderful bit of grammar mangling in Faces. Gambit stands by and plots murder.
And the aforementioned "Cook it and see." I saw. It was French Toast.![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
