An excellent example, Mrs. Peel!

Steed - "Admit it Mrs. Peel! We're inseparable!" Then, just before the fade out, she lifts her head and smiles face to face. AC or DC? I guess that question was resolved?

My understanding is we don't know and we are not supposed to know for sure. The whole 'Did they/didn't they' or 'Will they/won't they' was intentional and was instrumental to keep viewers guessing. There is no hidden clues in words or pictures to form any conclusion. There was no memo from the producers to the writers to confirm or deny and, I believe, every cast member and every writer will have a slightly different opinion. As do we.

Having said that, my-twopenneth is Cathy fancied Steed but, once she knew she could not change him and he would always be a bounder, she gives in and walks away. They never slept together - had they, it would have been the end. She was a modern woman, but it was still 1962/3/4.

Steed and Emma was as close as they could be without being married. Again all sexual tension would be lost if they every did the deed and the ending in TFMK wouldn't have been so poignant.

Steed and Tara - no. There's seems to be heavy code in Bizarre in the tag (phallus rocket, "there's no hurry ... Is there ... ?") but no. Urm, maybe ...

My issue here is simply that he was her mentor and it would be bad form. The old Steed from the Dr. Keel-C. Gale days may well have, but Steed was a fully grown up person by 1969. However that ending is almost semaphore in the clues it's giving us - rocket = phallus, Steed's 'look', "no hurry", Mother's concern. She had matured by then. Was he still the mentor? Or were they now equal partners?

oh yes..the question that begs to be uncovered...(LOL)

myself, probably not.....but if so, I have no problem with it...part of human relationships...

Steed doing Tara....heck, he might have a heart attack......(LOL)

would he do her...I'm hoping no. you know, the mentor angle..

some claim the KEEL era Steed would have taken advantage of all the women..perhaps..but I doubt Mrs.Gale, would have given in without some sort of conflict.....as the older Steed of Tara's era....respectful..but then again, (big grin) do leophards change spots ?

interesting post...on a humid june day....

Funny it is indeed! Interesting how my initial interest in the show when first watching as a little girl turned from just enjoying it for it's somewhat campy, colorful themes to as I grew older a more "decadent capitalistic touch"

:D yeah. You can interpret all these things very different. It's great that someone started with this post - I wasn't brave enough ;-) because some people are complaining about the sexual things...

From the review of the Optmum Series 4 -

The dialogue often crackles with subtle and not so subtle innuendo and Macnee and Rigg make some of the slower, more formal episodes worth watching.

Frank gets it!

A quick response from yours truly: "None of our business!"

The fact that things were ambiguous between the leads is what gave the show such appeal. If it had been an American show, they would have been a married couple, hopping in and out of bed in various stages of undress, with nothing left to the imagination. Boring.
