I think the alternate bits for Death at Bargain Prices are already on the appropriate DVD for the b/w Emma series

"Worth enduring the cardboard sets and performances of the opening seasons and the Linda Thorson autumn years for the 50 riveting Rigg episodes between."

Indeed. I really hate it when people pigeon-box the show into this one era. Personally, the 'Peel' years are my least favourite era of the entire show.

Have to agree actually. My favourite episodes are the Tara King era, although I aslo love the Emma Peel era as well. I also loved the New Avengers as well. I guess we all have differings tastes.

Fiddle de dee. I just started watching the new set of 1967-8 and it is astounding how great it is.

I love the other episodes but this series is the bee's knees.
Mrs Peel, you're needed!

Every episode from 1961 to 1977 plus more trivia than you can shake a brolly at.

Even in the Peel years, the black-and-white episodes are far superior in pacing, tone, originality, wit, variety, style and charm to the colour ones.

I'm getting this as a present. Just wondered if it was worth getting the Marcus Hearn book of pictures as well?

If you're an Absolute fan, the 50th anniversary companion is definitely recommended. :D
So many new photographs in very good quality.
