The cars were built in Germany from 1961 to 1968. Total production was 3,878 vehicles and they used the motor of a British Triumph Herald ( Steed's first car ever in the Avengers ?)

Have a look at the background, that's a picture from the cartoon Tintin et Miliou (Steed likes them very much) and it's Steed's car :D :D from Warlock/Season2

Indeed.
The Rhein is a very nice river in Germany and the landscape there is also beautiful.
Lots of old German Castles, small villages (typical German), medieval buildings...
A very chilled region. :D
And a trip in an Amphiecar over the Rhein would be fantastic...

The Amphicar is no longer made, vintage cars in decent condition have astronomical prices - as do repair parts. One needs a very large wallet - or trust fund - to play with this crowd.

Too bad. It'd be fun just to take a ride in one. :)

i'm not surprised that they go for huge prices these days...and parts are very pricey....

For a great sequence involving an Amphicar being driven (?) up the Thames, see the Michael Bentine film 'The Sandwich Man' - also full of great cameos by Avengers guest stars - and even an Avengers star (Ian Hendry).

I have built or significantly modified at least six cars. The rule of thumb is "it will take twice as long as you think and cost twice as much."

For sure, it will.
I only can say, that I'm not able to build a car...
In such cases I have no patience.
