I continue to return to my view that Macnee, for all intents and purposes, IS Steed. Again, though: Wadham is simply not my view of the character. His performance is not hard-boiled, particularly (and his few attempts at it are kind of silly) - he's just a rather dull fop. And, based on what we see in the scripts themselves and The Frighteners, that's not what Steed is portrayed as; or, rather, he does not come off that way in the scripts. Wadham makes him that way. Again, entirely my opinion.
