The creation of the opening and closing title sequences for Series 4 seems to be strangely undocumented.
An early incarnation, similar in style to series 3, can be seen on the Blu-ray discs for Master Minds and Death At Bargain Prices, and they include a credit for Laurie Johnson. I understand that Laurie was hired on 16 March 1965, therefore the title sequences used must have been shot sometime in the 6 months after that and before the start of transmissions in September 1965.
As the titles are a series of still photographs, I assume this means they were done by a specialist stills photographer and not necessarily at Elstree? The publicity and fashion shoots, such as the famous Kent beach ones, are well known and there are lots of pictures on the net from these, but I haven't seen as much as a single shot from the title sequence session that doesn't appear on screen.
Is there anything available that has passed me by?
My particular interest is the Bentley used for the sequence, which isn't any of the ones used by Steed in the programme and is the only one that remains unidentified. Any additional pictures would be very useful!
