Top 50 Greatest-Ever TV Cars

Post by Ian Wegg »

There is an article "The Top 50 Greatest-Ever TV Cars" in the latest edition of the car magazine Magento. The Avengers is the only show to have three entries, plus one more for the The New Avengers.

They are:
46. Tara's AC
22. Steed's Jaguar XJC
13. Emma's Lotus Elan
7. Steed's Bentley

(Number 1 was Adam West's Batmobile, in case you're wondering).

great thread...some classic rides..I can only imagine tooling around town, in any number of them...except Steed's ride...being so stubborn...I remember reading about the times the crew had to push it in a scene..when it decided to stop running that day...Speaking of the Adam West Batmobile...A Memphis wrestler Jerry 'The King' Lawler, either has a 100% reproduction of it, or he bought one of the back up vehicles..and drives it around Memphis, from time to time...What did all those british vehicles have in common ? the electrical was LUCAS...I.E. prince of darkness....I'm not stranger to the quirks..as my '65 MG Midget, would act up from time to time...electrical system would go wonky..LOL

Thanks for reproducing this. Number 7 in the charts is pretty good! I hope The Prisoner's Lotus 7 is in there somewhere.

I wonder if anyone knows where/when Steed had a Bugatti? I don't recall it.

If they had actually watched "Don't Look Behind You" they would have found that GK 3295 was a silver Lagonda 2 Litre Low Chassis Speed Model from 1930 and not a Bugatti as Dave Rogers said in his book. Lagonda, despite the name , is a British marque whereas Bugatti are Italian. The Avengers always had a British undercurrent - or is that overcurrent?

Thanks for posting.

But is it Emma's white or powder blue Elan? I'd hope and guess the latter.

Yes, the metallic-painted Elan is definitely the best one. I always think of it first and foremost, when I think of Emma's cars.
