A forfeit is given only when it is an obvious but wrong answer - one that is generally accepted as true, but is proven to be false.

[quote="mjhbuckeye"]Cathy is now quietly involved in research in Austrailia after having served a long stretch in the Federal slammer for her role in the Ft. Knox affair under the psudeonym Pussy Galore, which made her quite unsuitable for re-enrty to the UK.

Wasn't Cathy supposed to get a much lighter sentence, if any, for turning the tables on her former boss ' Goldfinger ' and helping out 007,
( in more ways than one...) hmm, looks like another govt wankering..

What happened (in your imagination) with the characters from the Avengers.
Did Steed became a disc jockey for Radio 1? Did Emma became a crime fiction novelist? Did Cathy went back to Africa? Just some fun hypothetical biographies.
Venus Smith, after her stint with Steed, returned to her music career, putting out several LPS and Touring ..She eventually rose to head the
A & R dept of EMI, in their JAZZ Division. She recently finished recording
a new jazz CD, with her mentor Dave Brubeck..and getting ready to do
a tour of both the UK & North America..

After Goldfinger bought it there was no one left to roll-over on. Cathy/Pussy was literally left holding the bag as the senior surviving conspirator. Remember, soldiers were killed during the course of the felony, so she is hardly a sympathetic character. And having a roll with a British agent is not going to do her much good in an American court. Her "help" would only allow her to evade a capital sentence, but a very long stretch is still in the offing.

Dr. Martin King went back to Doctoring full-time for about ten years or so, before he was headhunted into being in charge of the Ministry's medical department much to his disdain but having seen Steed as a changed man he did some medical fiddling to prevent Steed from being set up as the head of a new criminal intelligence department and highly recommend the head of MI6 to take the position. He eventually retired from the ministry and set up an antiques busisness.

Dr. Keel stayed doing missionary work abroad for a long time, before finally returning to England as a consultant in Harley street.

Mrs. Gale continued her studies in anthropology and did this to great acclaim. She was given a peerage and now sits in the House of Lords. There she sits (for an reason unknown to most) on the committee for the intelligence services.

Cathy Gale moved to a small island in the Carribean and lived the rest of her days writing crime novels.

Emma moved back to London after Peter Peel died where she then married and lived out the rest of her life in comfort in the busy city.

Tara King moved to France where she married a film director.

Purdey married Gambit and they live in Milton Keynes as she had wished for her first marriage.

Venus Smith's music career failed due to the fact she could not sign very well. She went into presenting a children's television programme for the BBC.

Dr Martin King went undercover as the sole press representative during the mysterious London evacuation of late 1965, when strange fogs enveloped the streets and a deadly web spread throughout the Underground rail transport subway (the truth about this even was not revealed to the public at large until three years later).

Purdey was recruited by a paranormal investigation agency although the records of this part of her timeline are obscure and paradoxical...

Mike Gambit drank a lot of coffee.

Steed went on to assist 007, James Bond (under an assumed name) and also assumed another identity to infiltrate the United Network Command for Law Enforcement at top level...
