I still think that first edition from 1983 has the most handsome cover, although 'Utimate' has the best/up-to-date info (and it dips into interviews from the 'zines).
My 1983 copy still has my pencilled notations from when I was collecting the episodes on tape, so is now such a personalised and nostalgic item...

what a nice find...been looking for it, for an while..eventually, I'll come across it...don't think many copies, were originally printed up..Bad Wolf wrote:I was at a local used bookstore tonight and actually found a copy of "The Avengers" (the 1983 book). It was only $5.99 and is in fairly good shape. I previously only had the US version of "The Complete Avengers".
Now I just need to locate a copy of "Ultimate".
A review in French of Dave Rogers' episodes guides. 1983-2013 Thirty years and the books are still on my shelf !

The book I bought as new up in the West End, I think. I used to frequent a lot of the movie stores when I worked there. Then it was carrying the book (plus other publications) around with me whenever I ventured to places where celebs would be.
The joy with The Avengers Anew book is that it has an A-Z list of co-stars so it was quick to look who had been in the series. I used to go to Comic heritage luncheons where a lot of stars would attend.
Otherwise, it was waiting outside the BBC side door in Hallam St waiting for Debbie Thrower radio show guests.
Some I would bump into in Fulham, where I used to live. If I had the books with me, I politely ask for a signature! Michael Latimer lived right around the corner from me. I went to drama school with his daughter. He was such a kind gentleman. So sorry to hear of his passing recently.

"Brown hyphen Fitcth. Is the Fitcth spelt with a small F or a big one?"
"A big F."
"It suits you."

I also have Dave Rogers' The Complete Avengers book, signed by Patrick Macnee and Michael Latimer (who added a nice comment too!) and a few others, but don't have it to hand to get a photograph at the moment.
