Like I (and others) have said in the thread, fags were a little bit too 'real' for the later comic-y Avengers, along with uniformed police, black people, regional accents etc.

I am from California and am also a Wild Wild West fan. According to the book on WWW, taking shows off the air because of violence in the late 1960's was strictly a political move in the U.S.
