problem with the ratios and overall transmission ?

I tweeted to them about it yesterday and here's the reply:

Hi Paul, we are trying to sort it out but in the mean time you can turn your tv settings to auto. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Pfft. Bit weird for a professional broadcaster! Mind you they're equally inept with their publicity and listings. First three seasons are all lost, indeed!

I really hate my blank Optimum/Canal DVD's of the first three seasons. It's a relief to get to season 4 when the episodes actually exist...

The presentation is fine so long as you have a widescreen TV. It's an anamorphic transfer of a 4:3 image.

Yep. My widescreen Sony automatically switches to the correct ratio. So no problems here.

The Avengers
True Entertainment
Monday 5th January 2015
8.00-9.00pm

The original Avengers series and the first not to have been lost. Follow the suave British spy Dr. David Keel and his charismatic female assistants take on the nebulous world of crime and espionage.
DigiGuide
The Digiguide description has been changed slightly for the episodes after 26/1:
"The original Avengers series and the first not to have been lost. Follow the suave British spy Jogn Steel and his charismatic female assistances take on the nebulous world of crime and espionage."
I've logged a "listings issue" pointing out the errors, so we'll wait and see if they fix it. Given that the one I logged in 2010 for Top Gear is still open I'm not holding my breath.

Yes. I withdraw my previous cynicism over Digiguide, they responded to my log within two hours:
Resolved by Ian Jones, January 15 - 16:20
Thanks, this has been resolved for the next listings update.
They are now using a previous generic description.
