Re: Emma Peel's Lotus
That's a pretty tidy price!

at the price it was sold at...it's a safe bet , the new owner, won't be using it as their daily driver.....it'll continue to be a museum piece..I reckon'

Re: Emma Peel's Lotus
The Saleroom Auction website says the Hammer Price was £146,000. The date is 24th Feb
The Silverstoneauctions.com says £164,250 on the 25th Feb.
Does that mean it was sold and bought on the friday and then auctioned again by the new owner the following day..?

Re: Emma Peel's Lotus
I did think the 300k was wishful thinking by the auctioneer, but as it only was mentioned in the disclaimers in the high price outcomes, maybe it was just boilerplate text and not expected at all.
146 is still above the expected price

Re: Emma Peel's Lotus
Indeed! In fact, according to this article it is "... the record highest amount ever paid for an Elan at a live auction.".
There were several iconic Elans sold from that collection. The others went for around £65k, with the next highest price being £74,250 for the ex-Peter Sellers car. It shows what a premium the Avengers connection still has after 60 years.
