Patrick MacGee... the Imposter

Now Patrick Macgee is a fine actor... but am I alone in seeing the name in film and hoping that it was actually Patrick Macnee, only to see Macgee show up? Particularly in some of the Amicus horror films.

Everytime I saw an ad for a movie that featured Patrick Magee, it always registered in my mind as Patrick Macnee! I'm glad I wasn't alone in thinking that!

Liked him in TV shows/plays like "Beasts" and "The Flip Side of Dominick Hide". I always mixed him up with Benny Hill's sidekick (Henry Magee?), not with 'our' Patrick, though one customer in the Prisoner Shop in Portmeirion reportedly saw a big picture of Patrick McGoohan and proudly declaimed to their family "you remember him - he was in that 60s series, 'the Avengers'. Right era, wrong spy show!
