The Avengers: The Definitive DVD Collection (partwork)

Post by Dandy Forsdyke »

Anyone know anything about a partwork Avengers magazine - beginning with Frighteners/Trapeze/Hot Snow plus booklet for about £2.99?

I think we discussed an Avengers partwork before on the old forum - I'm undecided whether I'd buy it.

Any thoughts ... ?

Here's the link:

Might get the first one at £2:99 but £8 for 2 episodes thereafter is a bit steep.

It's either feast of famine when you're an Avengers fan. Hmmm. :?

I'm a little confused about what this is--there are magazines and stuff, but also DVDs. Do you buy the DVDs and then get sent a bunch of magazines and whatever other little extras they care to add?

This explains the concept of partworks.

Looks like they're still updating the site as some links which weren't working earlier are now functioning and there's a now a link to a TV ad which wasn't there before - which doesn't yet work. By my reckoning it would cost around £650 to collect the lot :o

Yes the TV ad wouldn't work for me either. Must be very new.

Look forward to the ads on ITV and C4 (it was great seeing The Saint ones - and I'm not even a fan!), but I don't know whther I want to invest that much - especially as I won't be playing the DVDs.

Ah, I see. I hadn't heard of these before. The Avengers continues to be educational.

I've asked someone on Roobarb's who owns a copy.

My local newsagent hasn't any - or even heard of it (isn't it embarrasing when you ask for something and they stare back as if you've escaped from some warden controlled establishment? )

It is very expensive to collect, but as someone said - they very often turn up at your local The Works or Booksale or somewhere. Did anyone buy The Saint partwork?

It's the very cool looking storage case I'm mostly interested in. 8)
