I think that might be her actual bleached-blonde hair at that point, before it broke.

She still had her own hair a month later in the originally-filmed parts of Invasion of the Earthmen (November 1967), the wig came later (including in those parts shot where she's meant to be changing into a wig). It took a while for them to ruin her hair and they'd already shot some film with her by then. Otherwise they could just have made her a brunette from the beginning. She also has her own bleached hair in the originally filmed bits of Invitation to a Killing / Have Guns Will Haggle. She has the wig by The Great Great Britain Crime segments incorporated in Homicide and Old Lace according to this thread, anyway: https://www.dissolute.com.au/avengersfa ... 9&start=20

Yes, it was awful. A lot of strange decisions around then.

no doubt..seems there was a slew of changes..both on camera, i.e. steed growing side burns, Tara King, ' Mother'...Tara's hair being dyed, and of course
back firing...the producers replaced, then brought back...eventually, American ratings weren't there, the series got cancelled..(USA) losing the needed American funding ( WTF?) and then the show gets the Ziggy..which was strange to me, as the show was sold to many markets..world wide...you would have thought that alone would have pretty much provide needed funding..but..alas, it did not....

They loved The Prisoner, too.
The Prisoner liked The Beatles too ("All You Need Is Love" in the final episode, of course) :)

Yes, the Beatles even discussed a collaboration with Patrick McGoohan at one point.

And Lew Grade and ITC got a special agreement for the rights to the Beatles music used, which other companies have not managed (and thus have to keep editing out the Beatles from repeats and DVD releases, etc!).

I remember reading about that, some years ago..back around the time the first BOND film was being casted..McGoohan was offered and turn down the role of Bond, due to moral reasons..also Rod Taylor turned it down, as Cary Grant. Eventually Sean Connery, landed the role...but it might have taken a whole different path, if McGoohan had taken the role...but he ended up becoming John Drake ' Danger Man' aka as Secret Agent Man, in the States...

I've been watching Marie-Claire's reaction videos, she's just started on James Bond with the 1960s movies and is 3 episodes in to The Prisoner. She said she loves London in the 1960s but I think she will not see a lot of that in either of them! I hope she will do Danger Man (Secret Agent) which is sort of halfway between the two!
