Looking for the flats?

Post by Big Bear »

I am in London on Friday and wanted to find Steed, Emma and Tara's flats, has anyone else done this in one day and could they point me in the right direction please?! :D

I've never looked for Emma's but Steed's and Tara's are fairly close (ish) and easy in the same day. Steed's is near Oxford Circus (Central Line - about 10 minute walk if that) and Tara's near Chalk Farm station (Northern Line).

What I did (back in the day) was start at Tara's (Chalcot Cresent) and then take a walk down through Primrose Hill (superb panoramic view from the top) and Regents Park joining Portland place, which runs down to Oxford Circus (past BBC Broadcasting House). Before you get to the BBC take the right either New Cavendish Street or Duchess Street and Duchess News is the first turning off either.

I can never remember where Emma's is.. Hampstead..?

Friday's supposed to be a scorcher. :)

Highpoint 2 in Highgate?

Yes, we're having an Indian Summer. Great to walk outside in late September in just a shirt.

Forgive me for LOL, but I just checked on-line and saw London weather for this Friday is supposed to be 79F.

For those of us who emulate Steed in "Angels of Death", the heat of southern California is preferred, and one believes he might have been referring to the Palm Springs area, (where an actor named Patrick Macnee lived). Although where I live, in Phoenix, is really the best--Palm Springs will only be 103F on Friday. It will be 105 F here--wonderful! Now, that's a September scorcher! I'd love to serve a cold drink to Steed at my pool! ;-)

You have to take it in context, Mona. After an promising start we had a such miserable Summer so this heatwave, although not to California standard, is a welcome surprise.

Take it from this pale Englishman.

Yes, perhaps scorcher was an over exaggeration, it's still strange for this time of year (personally it just feels wrong having a hot day when the sun is low in the sky).

To put it into context it is 10 °C above the normal national average which is a record breaker for the UK. Enjoy it though 'cos this time next week it could be business as usual.

I'll visit Tara's, Steed's and Emma's next month ! I'll spend 5 days in London (my hotel is in Soho, which isn't far from Oxford Circus if you take the tube).
I've been blessed by The Avengers!
