A footnote in Avengers history, Mick Anglo, author and illustrator of the Thorpe and Porter 'The Avengers' comic has passed on at the ripe old age of 96. He was more famous for his creation of Marvelman and The Marvelman Family in the late 40s.

Long life indeed. I actually didn't know Mick was still with us, and now of course he isn't. RIP

Kimota, Mr Anglo.

I knew he was alive, but I had no idea he had anything to do with The Avengers! Are details and examples of his Avengers comic online?

I scanned the whole of the Avengers Thorpe and Porter comic a few years back, and you can read it here:

Sad to hear the artist/author has gone. :( I actually felt his take was the most true to the feel of the series among the comic books.
