sorta interesting, No amazing, how much of impact, be it visual, or even culturally, that episode had ..and the pics..then and now, are so
revealing..top notch script..etc...and I've enjoyed seeing the pics, and going back and re watching the episode..

Glad you all liked the pics 😀.... I am aware not everyone is so close to such a location. Plus the limited times of the year it is open to the public.

My wife and I have been lucky enough to get along there for the open days a few times over the years, and it really is a lovely place to visit. Glad you've had the opportunity too! :)

Interesting this is clearly a promo still as the engine is on the same track as tied Emma and not the main engine used in filming (no 750 vs no 751).

I found this snippet elsewhere on this site explaining why.

Thinking the engine driver here is John F Gretton the 2nd Baron who put the railway into Stapleford Park in the late 1950s?

Even though they lashed her to the tracks to die, someone kindly thought of her comfort and put a couple of jackets or coats underneath to cushion her...

common practice of the era...promo shots of certain scenes / episodes....it had to be a tad uncomfortable..on the ground like that...

That would be from my website, yes it's definitely Lord Gretton driving the engine.
