Someone’s remade Return of the Cybernauts.

I wonder if this is a licensed product and if not are Studiocanal aware of this?

Where has this been hiding?

Just when I think I've seen everything connected to The Avengers, something new turns up.

Shame the closing credits are not included.

The description says it's from 1968. I suspect it's an unlicenced remake, as we've never heard anything about it. It's a really fascinating find, though. Thanks for posting it, norw27! :D

Startling find!

It has so much in common with the episode as transmitted that I'd not be surprised if it was officially licensed.

So many questions spring to mind!

I was just browsing on YouTube looking for hidden Avengers treasure - it's amazing what turns up sometimes - and truly bizarre!

Las Luchadiras vs el Robot Asesino (Robot Assassin?) appears to have been filmed by a company called Cinematographica Calderon S.A. in 1968 and released in Mexico on January 9th 1969.

The Steed equivalent who was a police detective called Arturo, played by Joaquin Cordero, whose acting career appeared confined to Mexico. Arturo’s girlfriend, the lady wrestler Gaby (the Emma Peel counterpart), was portrayed by Regina Torné another performer to restrict her appearances within the confines of homeland.

There were several of these Mexican female wrestling movies during the sixties, with Wrestling Women vs the Aztec Mummy coming to mind.

Remarkably, it is now possible to watch this film, I suspected that they took a lot from episode, but not to such an extent. Previously, information about this film was published in French blog "Steed's Secret", but there was no video.

Mexican filmmakers apparently found the cybernaut very tempting idea to create a remake. Wonder, may be they did other films with the ideas from the episodes The Avengers?
