Tara is a great tomboy fighter in All Done With Mirrors but 'athletic'? Mmmm. I'd go for Forbes.

Purdey being the ultimate Avenger Girl was certainly eclectic, incorporating all the best attributes of the previous Avenger Girls into her character, in addition to the special traits Joanna Lumley brought to the role :D Purdey
is certainly scripted as the most Sporty and Athletic Avenger Girl and probably the haughtiest to boot :!:

Tara did some great rolls and leaps and her fight in the Optics Room is probably one of the most gutsy and athletic of all, but for me Purdey is more balletic than athletic (though she is a great runner and climber - from the Target! course where she climbs buildings, to the gate-climbing in The Midas Touch (as used in the titles), and her energetic runs in Sleeper (even if speeded-up, it's a great run for a smoker!) and several other episodes.

It's Cathy Gale who is the real athlete, her judo fights are superb and as we know from Honor's training and writing on the subject, totally real.

Does Venus ever fight or do anything actiony?

Dr Martin King does a great rugby tackle, in The Sell-Out I believe.

I love Purdey's run along the railway track (don't try this at home kids:)) as you keep expecting it to cut but it just keeps going.

There's a great little article somewhere from a reporter who was on location when they shot that scene, and he said the same thing--kept waiting for them to cut away but Joanna just kept going. She could run like the wind, even in inappropriate footwear!
