After so many years of waiting there will be a German DVD release of The Avengers. The first box includes the b/w Emma episodes. Distributor is Kinowelt. Date: 22th Februar 2009
Don't know which kind of special features are included.

Before the DVD release the German/French channel arte will show some or all (not sure about it) Emma episodes: http://www.wunschliste.de/index.pl?news&newsid=4005
Starts in January 2009.

I wonder if these dvd's will have the proper English credits, instead of the French credits like on the Dutch dvd's...

...not sure...most of the DVDs here in Germany have the original title sequences and credits and not the German ones.
Just wait and see :D

If they are appearing on Arte they may be in English as it is the only French channel willing to show VO rather than dubbed versions.

It's a twin channel, there is French and a German version of it in the air.
And since both France and Germany had their own dubbing back with the original airing, I give it little chance to be in original soundtrack with subtitles.
But arte is one of the few channels that sometimes subtitles instead of dubbing.

I have a hunch these might be the remasters.

So arte starts with The Avengers on February 2th (not January) and the DVDs will be released from Kinowelt on April 3th.

Hope there will be no more postponements.

it's sorta amazing that the show, continues to get 'new' releases on dvd, around the world...that's staying power...and a mark of a true classic bit of television
