The Avengers in general has a somewhat desolated atmosphere with few people in the background.

For instance the Hidden Tiger threatens the whole British population, but what population? We don't get to see it.

Besides that quite a number of episodes have a confined atmosphere. Six Hands Across a Table, The Golden Eggs, The Nutshell, The Wringer, Death à la Carte, The Master Minds, The Town of No Return, The Living Dead, Epic, The Superlative Seven, Noon Doomsday, All Done with Mirrors, Wish You Were Here, Pandora.

Oddly enough some of the countryside episodes (my favourites) can have it too in a way. A Surfeit of H20 has rain killing someone in the open field. Reminiscent of Hitchcock's North By NorthWest where a plane attempts an assassination in the most open terrain conceivable. Desolation seems to be much more effective and haunting when it lacks confinement. Murdersville flips this, its confined but not desolated, its the terror of the whole community being the threat.

"The Golden Eggs" features a terrifying pathogen, but maybe too depressingly realistic for lockdown viewing!

"Target!" is always fun and features a fast-acting malaria derivative of sorts.

"Murdersville" has a sort-of "North By Northwest" tribute with Emma being chased down by the helicopter.

Stay Tuned - every time Steed tries to break out of his condition, he gets returned home. Groundhog day.
