Kinky Boots - Podcast

Post by darren »

Ken Moss and Simon Exton are behind the Kinky Boots podcast - they are going through every Avengers episode reviewing them. Moss is quite new to the show whereas Exton is more familiar with it.

They've just done episode 15 covering - The Frighteners.

To cover the mostly missing season one episodes they cover the Big Finish audio adaptations.

Thanks for the recommendation! This is right up my boulevard and in my wheelhouse. I love the Big Finish re-enactments of Series 1. Really rounded-out my Avengers experience. Ironic that, as in the Biblical quote, "the first shall come last".

How did you find this, Darren, and how can I get in touch with them? Are they on twitter? Would like to show my appreciation beyond a mere "follow".

"I'm a little more woke, you're a little more gammon"

Though I am 53 years old and look like a gammon, I've been lifelong "woke" thanks to the tolerance preached by Dr Who :)

"I'll shall go away and admonish myself..."

"Is that what you call it?"

LOL, good that the Avengers kinkiness goes on.

Also, great point that homosexuality was decriminalised in 1967, so a series with a pair of male partners with a "will they, won't they?" Emma/Steed dynamic might've worked, in the UK at least.

We're still waiting...

Me too, now... I'm really enjoying this. I loved their review of Nightmare. It's nearly as much fun as listening to the Series 1 episodes themselves. The medical perspective from a real doctor about Girl on the Trapeze (and other Keel episodes) is an amazing insight.
