that's a great example of being done...who knows, maybe in the future, Studio Canal might release a couple of season 4 episodes in color..

I've changed my mind since asking this, while rewatching series 4 I've realised they look better in b&w and it suits them more! So my question now is, is there any way of watching series 5 in black and white?! :D

Haha! Yes, there is. Turn off the colour :)
Of course when ITV first showed the episodes in the 1960s, even the Tara ones, all of them were broadcast in black and white.

as a kid in the late 50's, majority of our programs, were in b/w....with only a very few in color..as color was primary reserved for motion pictures..the last few seasons of the Adventures of Superman, were filmed in color...but shown in b/w.....when the series was re runned in 1965, they were aired in color, for the very first time...as more and more color TV sets were sold to consumers,,and stations / Networks, went to color programming

As Franky says, turn down the colour on your set (or app, if you're on a computer). Having said that, Series 5 and 6 make full use of colour and are definitely better with it.

YUP, that's certainly one way to watch some of the Emma / Tara episodes that were filmed in color..and turn the 'color' off..and see how & watch
in monochrome...in fact, I've done that a few times, while watching the Tara era..but overall, I prefer color for Tara..and can live out color in the Emma era, especially her later episodes, before she left the role..

I must admit, the thought of adding color to Honor's slate of episodes, is both appealing, and revolting...but overall, the visual look is different due
the video tape nature..compared to when the series went to film...
