The two images posted below are of signs on the narrow streets within spitting distance of Dame Diana's French home. I mentioned them in an earlier post in this thread but just now figured out how to post photos. Happy to add them here. What do you make of them?Frankymole wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 12:23 amNo turn unstoned.unclefester wrote: ↑Sat Jul 29, 2023 10:23 pm I saw at two signs - both about 12" by 16" attached to the corners of two different houses reading..."RUE GARBAGE" - both within a stones throw of Dame Diana's house!

I think it's just the street names, there's Rue des Sources (Spring Street) down the road, and La Garbage is a village not too far away.

Re: Diana Rigg's French Friends Remember
That would make for some interesting viewing!
One thing I can provide here is a look inside the cottage that Patrick used "off and on" during his years of shooting The Avengers. A private cottage he would occupy in Bosham to relax and recharge. The image below is a screen grab from the television program "One Foot In the Past" showing a 75 year Patrick standing in his former "getaway" in 1997

Re: Diana Rigg's French Friends Remember
I remember seeing snippets of that program...I also remember reading that Patrick was a avid nudist..why am I not surprised ? he always seemed to have that naughty twinkle in his eye..(but in a good way) ..I'm wondering, Diana lived in a number of flats, before she bought a house-or-houses, during her long career..

Re: Diana Rigg's French Friends Remember
Haha yes, Patrick was an unashamed naturist and even had house parties (Linda Thorson was invited in to one when she visited) and once sent a packet of photos from some such event to agent Michael Whitehall which the latter opened in a restaurant, to his embarrassment!
With Patrick's own upbringing in a very Bohemian household in the 20s and 30s it's not too surprising. Quite the free spirit and ahead of his time (still is in many ways).

yes he was..I believe he was raised by his mother, who was gay..and her partner...and that being in the 'open' at least in that household, was also ahead of its time..he was a hipster saint....Frankymole wrote: ↑Mon Feb 26, 2024 2:18 pm Haha yes, Patrick was an unashamed naturist and even had house parties (Linda Thorson was invited in to one when she visited) and once sent a packet of photos from some such event to agent Michael Whitehall which the latter opened in a restaurant, to his embarrassment!

Re: Diana Rigg's French Friends Remember
loved the links and the pics...I remember that letter that Diana wrote to George, a little after the opening of OHMSS..in the states,I believed it was printed in the National Enquirer..and what a row ,it caused...couldn't believe that Diana printed her home address at the time...mcsteed wrote: ↑Thu Feb 29, 2024 2:29 am28, Finchley Road, NW8
