Thanks to Odalys for this over at suburbia - it doesn't tell us that much except that it confirms he is indeed a widower - oh, and is there a beach in Palm Springs???

It is desert. The beach is nearly 100 miles away. The mountains behind PS though are high enough to have forest and snow on top. In fact, there's an aerial tramway to the top.

Oh, and the one in Florida is Palm Beach.

If Patrick still owns his property in Malibu and goes back and forth, maybe that's the beach he's refering to. Just a guess on my part.
