New UK DVD release of season 2 *SPOILERS WARNING*

Post by Allard »

Thanks to the 2010 calendar we know that a new DVD set of season 2 is on it's way.

Exciting news!

The company that is responsible for this release is Optimum, who already brought out the New Avengers.

Most interesting question is of course if more season will follow, this being the first UK release of season two.

Commentaries!

I suspected/hoped this was the case. I cannot wait to get this set.

I see this will included the first season surviving episodes (first time UK release) and, what looks like, digitally restored episodes (? my aged eyes can't really read it ... )

And I love the sleeve artwork and retro wallpaper effect!

Great news!

:o :) :D

It says "Digitially Restored Special Edition" I believe. I love the box art, too. Good news indeed! :D

^Me too! And I still have to invest in the other eras too.
But if they're really digitally restored, and got extras, I might just go for it anyway :D

At the bottom it says + surviving episodes from season 1.
As well it should, but nice to see it is.

Well the dutch set was a bargain so I might be tempted to get this as well, if the extras are good. Hopefully this means we'll be seeing some pretty re-issues of the rest of the series as well!

Actually I don't expect a lot of extras except the season one eps. Just think what has survived of the Avengers from the 1961-1962 period apart from the episodes themselves? From later one we have The Strange Case, The ZDF interview, the Town Girl, the Chessboard sequence. But from season two there probably isn't anything more left then some photo's to put on as extras.

Well Honor mentioned something about doing an interview for a DVD release, so I'm guessing that'll be an extra as well :D
Interviews and audio commentary are always nice extras.
