Francis Matthews (1927-2014)

Francis Matthews, actor who played Jerry Collins in "The Thirteenth Hole" & Dr. Matthew Chivers in "Mission... Highly Improbable", died yesterday, 14 june, aged 86 years old.

I loved him in many movies and he perfectly embodied his talent in The Avengers.

Mourn and remember! :(

Perfect gentleman. Appreciative of the fans. His wife appears in "How To Succeed... At Murder" and "Intercrime" as well. When he came to a Prisoner convention at Portmeirion, he joked that it was nice to be at a fan event where his wife got more attention than he did!

RIP.

Very sad to hear this. Every time we lose one of these people, we lose a little bit of TV history. Sounds like he was a lovely man. My thoughts are with his family. :cry:

oh how lovely you got to meet him. He sounded very charming. Very sad to hear. Like Timeless has said feels like losing a bit more of tv history. Thanks for posting Denis.

sorry to learn about this..86 yrs was a great run...and I loved him in the 13th hole...it's an episode I always loved, despite some fans turning their noses up at it...

Very sad news. Once met him at a Fanderson convertion and he was a pleasant and gracious person toward his fans, a sad loss.
