I think a couple of people thought that Macnee and Rigg didn't put their heart into this episode, but I think that is an unfair judgment. I think the real problem is more the quick scene changes and how, for most of the episode, the scenes of Steed and Peel together were very short and cut abruptly...

I agree this episode has to be the worst in the Peel series. THe characters are lifeless, boring, utterly unlikable. Diana's got little to do and both she and Patrick have lackluster lines and atypical performances. Mission: Highly Improbable is the scraping of the barrel. Don't hold back on our ac...

I watched 'The Hill' last night. Ian's portrayal of a cold, merciless military prison guard was exceptional. There was a scene where he and the CO were having a drinking contest and Ian is literally falling down drunk. Shades of reality?

Frankymole: Hey, being so bad it's laughable IS a good trait! Anyone ever see the movie "Plan Nine From Outer Space"? ;-) Incredibly amusing and awful movie. The two can be combined for good entertainment. Mona I'm on your team on this one Mona! (What a surprise! ) 'Trap' is defini...

Back to the subject at hand...2nd season thoughts. I've been watching the Gale episodes recently and I must say(although I can't believe I'm saying this), Patrick's portrayal of a much more macho, rough-around-the -edges, manipulating Steed is a real turn-on for me- as a viewer that is. That is cer...

As much as Patrick was Steed, he was also the lifeblood of the series. To echo the words of Diana Rigg , "He was it's lynchpin and he vigilantly upheld the standards and style of the The Avengers."

The show would have died without him.

The fact that Emma is the one who took over Knight Industries always makes me think she was an only child, btw. Even if Sir John was liberal-minded enough to want to a daughter in charge of his company, you'd think if she had a sibling he/she would have some stake in the company, even if they weren...
